Founded in 2024 in Berlin by the Albert Einstein Education Center, the Einstein Olympiad is inspired by the legacy of Albert Einstein and his belief in the power of imagination alongside knowledge.

The Olympiad aims to bring students from around the world together through a shared passion for math and education, while developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Einstein Olympiad provides an international platform for students to demonstrate their mathematical abilities and engage with challenging concepts. In the 2025–2026 academic year, the competition will focus exclusively on Mathematics, with plans to expand into additional disciplines in future editions.

Its mission goes beyond assessment, encouraging creativity, logical thinking, and innovative approaches to mathematical challenges.

How to Join Einstien Math Olympiad

Register for the Local Round
  1. Register for the National Round

    Sign up through Contest Bag to join the Einstein Math Olympiad. Select your round, secure your place, and get ready to compete in this international math challenge.

  2. Check the Syllabus

    Each two-garde category has a clear list of topics. Review carefully — they are the key to preparing with confidence.

  3. Practice with Resources

    Access past papers and sample problems for your grade. Use them to sharpen your skills and build exam readiness.

  4. Review Your Performance

    Access the practice tests in the community to help you measure your progress before the real event. They give you confidence and show you where you need to improve.

  5. Compete in the National Round

    Take the official online exam (25 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes). This stage determines who qualifies for the Global Round.

  6. Advance to the Global Finals

    Top medalists from the National Round compete internationally in the Global Round, earning medals, certificates, and international recognition.

Einstein Math Olympiad begins with the Local Round, and the top achievers proceed to the Global Round, where the best young mathematicians compete at a world-class level.

From Local Tests to Global Triumphs

1. National Round (Online)

Start your Einstien Math Olympiad journey with the national online exam. Solve 25 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, tailored to your grade level. Earn certificates, medals, and the opportunity to advance to the Global Round.

2. Get Your Results

Top performers from the National Round receive Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Honorable Mention certificates. Medalists qualify for the Global Round.

3. Global Finals

Finalists from around the world compete in the Global Round, featuring both multiple-choice and problem-solving questions. Celebrate your achievement with medals, digital certificates, and international recognition.

01. What is the Einstein Math Olympiad?

Einstein Math Olympiad is a global mathematics competition founded in Germany. It brings together students from Grades 3–12 across 40+ countries to test their math skills, critical thinking, and creativity.

02. Who can participate in EMO?

Einstein Math Olympiad is open to students from Grade 3 to Grade 12, divided into five categories based on grade and age.

03. What are the competition rounds?

There are two rounds:

  • National Round – Online: 25 multiple-choice questions, 90 minutes.

  • Global Round – Germany: Each year, the panel selects a different city in Germany for the Global Event.

04. How are students awarded?

Top 10% Gold, Next 15% Silver, Next 25% Bronze, and Next 40% Honorable Mentions.

05. When will the 2026 local round take place?

National Round: August 08th, 2026 – Online

06. What topics are covered in the Olympiad?

08. Where and when will the Global Round take place?

The Global Round will take place in Germany, October 26-30, 2026 .

09. Who is eligible for the Global Round?

The top 45% of winners from the Online round of the International Math Challenge are eligible to join the global round. In other words, Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners of the Online round are qualified to compete in the Global Round of IMC.
